Lose to gain is applicable in many areas in life. In relationships, we notice that conflict will always arise at one point or another because, let’s face it, no body’s perfect. We will at one point rub others the wrong way or because of our differences in terms of thought processes, may end up unintentionally pushing the wrong buttons. There are times when both parties insist on winning and this just prolongs the conflict and causes an unnecessarily long stalemate between the conflicting parties. Sometimes, letting go of the need to be always right, to always win may be the key that resolves the conflict. Saying ‘I am sorry’ or accepting your part in the conflict may save you a lot of stress and emotional baggage associated with the conflict. There will be no hatred, no bitterness and no tension in the relationship and healing can eventually occur. You may lose the battle in the conflict, but you have gained a lot more – peace and joy. The lie is that letting go of battles may be associated with weakness but , it is a sign of inner strength and maturity because you are able to choose your battles and recognize that not all battles present are meant to be fought.
Lose to gain is an important statement. Lose pride to enjoy peace and joy in your relationships with others.
