WHAT DO YOU SEE?

Hey guys?. Hope you are having a wonderful week. I can’t help but ask ‘what your vision is for your future’. It is a very broad subject that has the potential  of leaving one feeling discouraged especially if you do not have one yet.It is perplexing and the weight can be so daunting given that your life will move in the direction you want it to go.

It is true that one can get confused given the variety of options present. You may find that the circumstances may not be  ideal at the moment when opportunity comes knocking on your door. Remember that your decisions despite your circumstances ultimately affects the outcome.

Indecision in itself is a passive decision. Truth be told, not all opportunities have a long shelf life. If you take too long to make a decision, you may find yourself losing it. Bottom line, no progress would have been made.

Each of us has a part to play in life. We all have a purpose to fulfil. We also play an integral role in helping others fulfill their purpose in life. You are crucial to effecting transformative change in  someone else’s life. Just think about it. How many times have you encouraged someone when they were going through a difficult time? How many times have you put a smile on someone’s face by simply saying ‘thank you’? You may have been the blessing someone else needed even without knowing it.

What if I do not have any vision for my life yet? Well, the best thing to do is to ask God to give you your vision. Immerse yourself in the word of God. Pray, fast, listen to faith filled messages from men and women of God. God will reveal it to you.

There are times, God may reveal things to you in bits and pieces but trust that the complete picture is beautiful.

STAY CONNECTED.

Hey guys hope your week started well. Have you ever noticed that we usually get tempted in the areas of our weakness? If you are hot tempered you may run into someone who strikes a nerve. If you are impatient you will find yourself driving behind a slow driver without room to overtake… These are not mere coincidences.

We have a real enemy who is constantly studying us.He knows our weaknesses. He will use them against us. When you become a child of God, God’s grace is sufficient for us and He is faithful and just to forgive. When you  make the decision to follow Christ,  you choose to leave the past behind you. But, sometimes, those past struggles pop up even in the most subtle forms. Their intention is to reel us into the past self destructive actions; to cause regression instead of progression. It is important to recognise the malicious intent behind it. It simply is not a coincidence that a suggestive ad is seen while watching tv or surfing the net if you struggled with pornography in the past. It is no coincidence that you run into an old friend who drinks and pressures you to go drink yet you struggled with alcoholism. It is no coincidence that a colleague sits next to you with juicy stories of another person over lunch yet you had issues with gossip. These are not mere coincidences. They are bait to lure you into the past sinful ways. Once you take it, you fall victim to guilt , shame and condemnation. You feel as though you took 2 steps forward and 4 steps back. You feel like a failure and that you do not deserve God’s forgiveness. We all fall, we all make mistakes and sometimes fall into the self-blame game which honestly speaking accomplishes nothing. God’s grace is unlimited. He is ready to forgive when you fall. It is important to stay connected with the word of God. Know what He says and ask Him for the strength to resist the temptations faced.

Have a fantastic week.

MY DREAM, MY CHOICE, MY RESPONSIBILITY.

A big hello to y’all?. Hope you had a lovely week. Do you find yourself dreaming about the future? Do you find yourself thinking of what could be? God gives us dreams and the desire to fulfil them. He neither gives you a dream that is beyond your reach nor one that you are ill equipped to fulfil. He provides you with everything you need but, here’s the catch; GOD gives you dreams that are bigger than your current capacity so that His presence and His glory may be manifested in your life. He gives you the choice to believe Him or not. He gives you the choice to trust Him. He gives you the choice to have faith in His word. The question is, how can you believe when circumstances are so against you that fulfilment of the dream does not seem feasible?  That is where faith comes in.  Seeing beyond what is physically visible; seeing what could be. It is our choice to believe and work relentlessly towards the dream God has put in our hearts. It becomes our responsibility to do what is necessary in our own strength in order to give God something to bless.

It all boils down to dreams, choice and responsibility.

Have a lovely week awesome people.

Kiria.

THE FINE LINE.

20170119_215049-1

Happy new month to you all ?. Hope January treated you well and that February will even be better. Today, the subject will be about crossing the line. There are very many boundaries that exist and sometimes things may seem almost ambiguous because the boundaries are not clearly defined or are barely visible. If someone crosses a boundary, they enter into another area. If the entry is not sunctioned, they can be accused of trespassing on another’s territory. We are human beings, social and free to interract. Frequent interraction is bound to bring friction at one point or another. One may infringe on the rights of another without their knowledge or for others it may be deliberate. In the end, it leaves the other person feeling resentful or hurt depending on the level of damage inflicted. This can lead to division in relationships if the differences are perceived as irreparable. This issue of emotional boundaries is tricky because they are abstract and dependent on an individual and their personality. It is an art learnt through practice. The more frequent the interraction with one, the more the opportunities for conflict and conflict resolution, the more you learn. It is a somewhat painful process that requires constant adjustment to maintain the relationship. That is probably why the more in-depth the relationship is, the higher the chances of conflict and reconciliation. The more you have those conflicts the better you learn someone and what buttons to avoid pressing in order to maintain peace. This is the adjustment seen in whatever relationships you look at: friends, family, marriage, between co – workers etc. Remember, we are only human and bound to make mistakes. Never beat yourself down when you make this mistake. Wake up, dust yourself, reconcile / forgive and forget; and move on. Life must continue.Nothing good can come from dwelling on past issues. Look foward to a better brighter tomorrow because God’s grace is sufficient for you.

Have a lovely week.

FEAR NOT.

Hey there friend. Today we will talk about an issue that may have plagued some in one way or another, fear. Fear of failure, fear of the unknown, fear of rejection, discouragement, disappointment, doubt, anxiety. The list can be extrapolated. But, I guess you get my point.

I did not realise how fear can hinder someone or paralyse their progress. It is during such times when someone can feel down and talk themselves out of their dreams. They end up making excuses of why something may not work because they fear failure or rejection. Then they end up in a mentality where they feel incapable of trying out new things or exploring new horizons. Fear is real and is not from God. It is a tool used by the enemy to deter you from achieving all the dreams God placed in your heart. Fear will always appear when you want to stretch beyond your comfort zone. The nagging feeling and insecurities that grow louder as you meditate on the negativity begin to appear real the longer you entertain them. God has given us faith to counter fear. Fear is false evidence appearing real while faith is the substance of things hoped for. Both are intangible but one is destructive and the other is condusive for growth and development. The more you entertain negative thoughts which evoke negative emotions, the more you believe them. The more you believe that God has your back the more your dreams appear realistic. The battle with fear, doubts, anxiety is real. But, when you counter that with the word of God which is essentially faith, then you can protect yourselve from the fiery darts thrown to you that is meant to deter your progress. The more you entertain thoughts of fear and discouragement, the more you believe it. But, what would happen if you listenned to faith filled messages? You would be building yourself and keep growing in faith. Your way of thinking changes from that of ‘i can’t ‘ to an ‘ i can ‘ mentality. The dreams God puts in your heart will always appear way bigger than what you can ordinarily do in your own strength. Sometimes you  may think you are out  of your mind even thinking about it. But that’s the beauty of it. God will always give us dreams beyond our capabilities in order to demonstrate His favour, love and greatness in us. This is where fear comes to play….  Never let fear define you. Never let it take away your joy or rob you of your peace. Most importantly,  never give fear a chance to destroy your destiny. The ultimate goal of the enemy is to kill, steal and destroy all the amazing things God has in store for you. It is truly devastating to let negativity rob you of all God has intended.

Stay encouraged,

Kiria.

YES, MAYBE, I DON’T KNOW? ???

Happy happy 2017 guys. January is almost through and we can only be grateful to God so far for His mercies and goodness. Each year is full of promise. We usually start the year with so much excitement, knowing what we want to accomplish and where we want to go in our lives. At the beginning of anything, we are usually excited and energized. We usually commit ourselves into doing things that perhaps we did not accomplish the previous year or dare to believe that we can attempt and succeed at doing new things. As time moves on, things get more challenging. Our priorities shift because life just happens and part of life is being thrown unexpected curve balls that can throw us off course or get us distracted. At the end of it, we end up giving up on our dreams for the year.

Personally, I noticed that we let go of the goals originally intended as time progresses because the resolve fizzles out. The initial enthusiasm slowly disappears as days go by within the year. At the end of it, we would not have achieved all we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year. Part of what contributes to this is not constantly setting our eyes on the prize. We have the tendancy of making new year resolutions, not writting them down or if we do write them down, we do not look at the goals and dreams set out for the year. We allow ourselves to get destructed and our focus shifts to other issues. I think, we should make an effort to review our goals on a regular basis in order to remind ourselves the direction we want our lives to take. Terry Saville Foy, one lady who is a motivational speaker, author and pastor emphasizes on Vision boards or dream books and uses them to achieve her dreams. It’s rather difficult to forget something that is constantly before your eyes. It is hard to forget someone you constantly interract with on a daily basis.  Similarly, it is difficult to forget your dreams and goals for the year if you keep reveiwing them. When you look at them, you can see your progress towards achieving them. This may keep you motivated in finally achieving your goals.

This year, maybe we can try something different. We can make a resolve to constantly review our goals whether its daily, weekly or monthly or whatever regimen you choose and keep yourself accountable to achieving your year long goals. Let not your dreams turn from being achievable, to being distant and eventually unattainable. Let not your ‘I can’ turn into a ‘maybe ‘  and eventually ‘i can’t ‘. Be audacious and tell yourself that you can achieve all that you have set out to do this year. Its a challenge to me, to you and to anyone. With God, all things are possible.

Have a blessed 2017,

BEAUTY BEHELD.

20160520_183414

Life is what you make it. It is dependent on one’s actions and attitude they have in the midst of challenging circumstances and the good times; it is not necessarily dependent on the current circumstances.

We all go through good times and bad times in life but the constant support from those we love and trust makes life easier. Each person has their own level of tolerance. Truly each person is different, therefore the capacity to endure unpleasant situations differs among individuals.

There is no testimony without a trial. Beauty most often results from brokenness. It is the crushed flower that produces beautiful perfume. It is the crushed olive that produces exquisite extra virgin olive oil.  It is only by breaking through the shell that the chick emerges. God uses brokenness to expose the intentions of our hearts, our attitudes and our inner strength. It is through brokenness that we can experience the true unconditional love of God. It is through brokenness when we can see the motives and attributes of those around us. Brokenness brings revelation. Brokenness builds strength. Brokenness exposes truth. Brokenness allows God to make something beautiful out of what would otherwise seem as a disaster. Trust God to carry you through your challenges. He never disappoints.

As always, be awesome, stay awesome.

Kiria.

DO NOT BE DECEIVED.

Deception usually masquerades as the original but if you dig deeper you realize it is counterfeit. It specializes in the mastery of the art of seduction, appealing to the deepest desires of the heart, promising their fulfilment but in reality, it only provokes a response that leaves you enjoying short term gains leaving  destruction and devastation in its tracks. Deception focuses on blurring one’s vision, putting a veil on the eyes such that one cannot see clearly. Based on the misconception, one makes decisions that can potentially cause frustration and harm. In the end, one ends up regretting or feeling guilty.

The truth removes the veil and unmasks deceit causing clarity of vision and setting free those affected from going further down along a path that is potentially destructive. The truth literally sets one free. Nothing good can ever come from deception, only destruction.

As always, be awesome , stay awesome.

Kiria.

CAPTURE THE MOMENT.

20170101_174025

Most of us try to capture moments in our lives that are significant to us. Whether it is through film, paper, canvas… whatever your choice is. There are those moments in life that we want to treasure because they come once in a life time. Once the moment is gone you can never have it back. We strive to keep some form of record of it to stimulate our memory on that particular event so that we can savour the moment.

Life is made up of a series of moments. Sometimes we may not recognize the significance of these moments until they pass. People often times wait for a single big event  that they can use to define a moment in their life.  But, there are those small moments that lead to the big event that we should not forget to cherish. In addition, we should not forget all those who contributed or supported us in one way or another and led towards the much desired success.

When we capture moments in our lives we recognize their importance and in a way want to relive those moments. When these moments pass they become memories. If we are not careful, we may live life based on past events and miss out on the present moments. Though the past may have wonderful times, the present and future may have better times ahead. Life is a culmination of moments, let us not forget to keep capturing events in our lives that add value whether big or small. Never be stuck in the past but be grateful for the amazing moments captured and look foward to bigger and better things.

As always, be awesome, stay awesome.

Regards,

Kiria.

EARTH SHAKERS, WORLD CHANGERS.

images-197

(picture from www.worldchangersintl.net)

Anyone who wants to make a positive difference in this world will face opposition in one form or another. There is just something about challenging the norm and current practices and attitudes that makes one look rebellious and become an instant target. History has proven time and time again that those who changed the world, or influenced their generation and subsequent generations all had to break through the stereotype, forge  ahead and chart a path in unclear and unfamiliar territory but in the end their persistence, consistency, insistence, boldness and courage made all the difference.

Anyone can make a difference. Anyone can bring about significant change. It does not matter the background or education level, all it takes is courage and humility to do so. In the Bible, Esther was a Jewish orphan who was living in a foreign land. By some interesting turn of events, she became queen of the land. At that point in time, one of the high ranking officials in the palace called Haman, had a deep seated hatred for Modecai ( a Jew who happened to be Esther’s cousin and guardian). He decided to use his position to annihilate the Jews in the land and went as far as to officialize it. The Jewish people were saddened by this. They mourned and fasted. Modecai sought Esther’s help. Esther had to go against the law of the land and face persecution if the king did not find favour in her and raise his golden sceptre. She, her servants and the Jews fasted for 3 days before this encounter. In the end, that fearless act provided the avenue for salvation of the Jews in the foreign land.

The disciples of Jesus faced imprisonment and persecution for spreading the Gospel to the nations of the world. When you look at their backgrounds before their encounter with Jesus, many of them came from uneducated backgrounds. They stayed with Jesus through out His Ministry and were teachable (which requires humility). In the end, they were religious leaders who were able to impact heavily on the world throughout generations.

Paul was an educated man who prior to his encounter with Jesus, was known as Saul who persecuted Christians. He converted to Christianity and became a missionary to the Gentiles where he faced persecution, imprisonment and other major obstacles. But, despite facing so many challenges he wrote many of the books of the new testament and managed to reach out to so many people around the world. Your past does not matter to God when He forgives you. It does not change the calling He has on your life. The only thing He needs is your willingness and obedience to follow the direction He leads you to.

You can think of so many examples of people who left a legacy in the world whether it is presently or in the past. But you will always find opposition in one form or another… Whether it is failure, ridicule, isolation, persecution, doubts or discouragement… The most common attributes seen were  their courage and strong belief in their cause.

Anyone can be a world changer but they need to be ready to tear down walls of fear, doubt and discouragement.
