anxIety is a word and an emotion that we are all familiar with at various stages and situations in life. The perception is that of being overwhelmed, being incapable of handling what is making you anxious. The result is such a negative attitude that adds onto the anxiety.
We are told not to be anxious but instead trUst that all will be well. Notice the deflection in the letter ‘U‘. The focus of trust is to shift from me, myself and ‘I‘ to YOU. This requires us to share what is ailing us, what is weighing us down. Despite the liberation that comes with sharing the burden, the tendency is to retain it because the pull towards ‘I’ is strong. There is anxiety associated with sharing. Will I be judged? Will I be betrayed? The shift from I to YOU is an active process requiring energy against the pull towards self…. Not easy but true.
